Shooting in San Diego
The marine layer is the thing to plan around: June and much of the early morning through midday can stay flat and gray, then burn off by early afternoon. That soft overcast is actually kind against skin and white dresses, so we do not fight it, but if you want a golden beach exit, put the ceremony late in the day and check sunset times, which run past 7:30pm in summer. Coronado and La Jolla parking fills fast on weekends, so build in buffer time for the drive between a La Jolla ceremony and a downtown reception.
Speed
The industry standard for wedding photos is eight to ten weeks, and for films it is often longer. We think that is far too long to wait to see the best day of your life.

In San Diego, full-day wedding photography usually runs somewhere between $3,500 and $8,000 depending on hours, second shooter, and album. Our collections start at $2,599 and one team covers both photo and film, so you are not hiring and coordinating two separate vendors. We are an LA studio that shoots San Diego weddings often, and travel down the coast is built into the quote.
It depends on the look you want. For classic beach and Victorian architecture, Hotel del Coronado is hard to beat; for Spanish Colonial courtyards, The Prado at Balboa Park; for ocean-view minimal, Scripps Seaside Forum or Cuvier Club in La Jolla. Downtown couples often land on The US Grant for a ballroom feel.
September through November is the sweet spot: warm days around 75 to 80 degrees, cool evenings, and very little rain. If you book May or June, know about "May Gray" and "June Gloom," the marine layer that keeps mornings overcast, which is fine for photos but not the bright blue sky some couples picture. Winter is mild and quieter on venue pricing.
