A couple's session worked through the arcades, courtyard and iron staircase of a grand old building.

The day
Two looks, one building. Black suit and a pale gown for the first half, worked into the colonnade where lanterns hang down the length of the arcade and the light falls off fast toward the far end. Shirtsleeves for the second half, walking the courtyard hand in hand under the big trees. A dip kiss dead center in the tall archway with the fountain sitting behind them. A stair sequence on the wrought iron staircase. Ring shown once, her hand flat on his lapel.
How it was shot
Midday sun on pale stone is a problem and an opportunity. Under the arches the shade is clean and even, so nearly every color frame here is open shade with the bright courtyard behind for separation. The archway shots run the other way: expose for the fountain outside and the two of them fall close to silhouette, which is why those went to black and white. I lined the dip on the center of the arch, then checked my verticals before moving on.
