The day
A brown three-piece suit, a lace gown with a veil long enough to drag, and granite walls behind them. The film runs from a white chapel with heavy wood doors, through portraits in Yosemite Valley under flat cloud, to a dance floor lit magenta after dark. Yellow cottonwoods edge the meadow, pines stack up the ridgeline, and there is a dip kiss in grass past knee height. By night it is folding chairs, a DJ rig, and the two of them alone on the floor.
How it was shot
Valley light is a trap. Granite holds detail long after a white dress has blown out, so we expose for the lace and bring the rock back in the grade instead of the other way around. Portraits at that scale want a long lens from well back, or the wall flattens and the couple shrinks into it. The harder job is continuity: bright sun on bougainvillea, flat cloud in the meadow, magenta LED at the reception, all of it has to read as one film. That gets done shot by shot, by hand.
