The day
Prep ran in a modern house on a hillside, all glass and marble, with the dress hanging near the fireplace and the bridal party in blush robes before they changed into olive satin. A violinist played near the pool while guests filled gold chairs. The ceremony arch sat under a tree with red drape running through it, and the ring bearer arrived with a case that read RING SECURITY. Portraits closed out on the driveway around a gold convertible.
How it was shot
White suit, white gown, white stucco, full sun. That stack eats highlight detail fast, so most of the day was shot slightly under and lifted later, only where the fabric texture still had something left in it. The driveway portraits ran straight into backlight, which flares off a gold hood without much warning, so we worked from the shaded side of the car and kept the sun behind their heads. A handful of frames read better in black and white and stayed there.
