The day
Vows first, inside a Catholic church with a high wood ceiling and family filling the pews. The flower girl wore sage tulle, and so did the bridesmaids, in satin, standing next to groomsmen in light grey. Portraits moved to the wooden footbridge at Bridgeport in Valencia, water and townhomes behind them, the veil pulled over both their faces for one frame. The reception ran outside: gold chargers, sage runners, a mariachi group, and a first dance on an open concrete court.
How it was shot
Churches are the hardest room of the day. Dark wood swallows light, the windows behind the altar sit several stops brighter than the aisle, and you are working long from the back with no flash. We meter for faces and let the windows go. Outside it flips completely: white concrete, hard shade under trees, a mariachi in black wool with silver trim. Those frames get watched for color shift, because green lawn bounce turns skin the wrong direction fast.
